About Us

Chairman

Roger Davis

I have lived in Bidford on Avon from the age of 5, I am married to Debbie and we have three grown- up sons. I played for the School Football team, and joined Bidford Colts under 14’s and 16’s, I was then selected to play for Warwickshire County team and went on to play for Alcester and Redditch teams before returning to play for Bidford. The club at that time was known at that time as Bidford Boys, where I became a Manager, then eventually Secretary and Chairman. I have also coached Evesham United Juniors and Stratford United Juniors. I believe that children’s and youth’s football coaching and game time should be fun and encouraging and we should praise the players, providing constructive feedback from which they can learn. I am delighted to be back in children’s football as Chairman of Bidford Juniors FC and look forward to continuing the great work Club has done in it’s recent 20 year history.

Secretary

Juliette Haerle

I have been involved with Bidford Juniors Football Club since my son joined as an U5 in 2009. Since then I have been a volunteer at the club, organising and running stalls at Tournaments, and on match days I support my son & husband (U16 Manager) by setting up the pitch and collecting subs as well as making teas, coffees and bacon butties in the Pavilion! I joined the Committee in 2017 as Secretary, which involves agreeing and communicating meeting agendas, taking notes at meetings, attending league meetings and sending out general Club communications. I am also responsible for registering the players with the league at the start of every season. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with family & friends.

Sarah-Fountain

I am married to Paul and we have 2 sons, aged 15 and 12, and we have lived in Bidford for 14 years and I run my own HR and People Development Consultancy, odfconsulting Ltd. Previously I spent 22 years in various HR and L&D Director roles, mostly in the hospitality and retail sectors. My involvement with BJFC began in 2009 when my eldest son joined the club when he was in Reception at Bidford Primary School. The club was instrumental in forging great relationships with children from different schools, parents and the wider community, and this started an 11-year association with the club. My youngest son now plays for the club and has done for 7 years I spent the initial years as a volunteer and parent-helper, making bacon butties and running the bar at the annual tournament. In 2016 I was asked to join the committee in the new role of Social Events & Fundraising Co-ordinator, which gives me the opportunity to ensure our club is known throughout the village and surrounding area, attract sponsors to support us to thrive and grow, and also organise the many social and fundraising events we hold such as quiz nights, FIFA tournaments, trips to watch AVFC (& other teams on request!) and of course, the annual tournament.

Treasurer

Ian Slater

After qualifying as a chartered accountant in Canary Wharf in 2003, I decided to move back to the Midlands and decided to settle in Bidford for a more rural pace of life. After 6 years living at the top of Victoria Road, I decided to move further afield but only got as far as Broom, less than a mile down the road! I currently work as Finance Director for a company based in Birmingham with supplies the catering trade with Frozen Food products. My involvement with Bidford Juniors started of as a parent on the sidelines watching my Son, George play in goal – something he currently does for the U13 Spitfires. After several years of standing in cold fields every Saturday morning, I thought that I would help our more and gratefully accepted the position of Treasurer.

Club Welfare Officer

Alison Field

My name is Alison and I have been a parent at the club since my son joined back in 2016. I have been the Club Welfare Officer since 2018. My role within the club is to ensure that everyone that is part of the club, whether that be coaches, managers, committee members, parents or players, knows what part they must play to keep football a safe and enjoyable environment for all involved. I ensure that volunteers have the relevant DBS checks carried out and I also deal with any issues of poor behaviour or child welfare concerns. I am always contactable by phone or email if you have any concerns regarding the welfare of children at Bidford Juniors. In my day job, I am nursery manager at Bidford Bright Stars where I am also Designated Safeguarding Lead, this role gives me a great understanding of child protection issues which I can implement into my role in the club. In my spare time I like spending time with my two children, socialising with friends and going on holiday!
