Football has been a large part of my life since playing grassroots football as a kid growing up in Birmingham. My dad was a coach for my first ever team Kings Heath Concorde where I began my career as a goalkeeper. I was scouted to join the Birmingham City Centre of Excellence at the age of 12 and remained there until our whole team was released at Youth Team Level.
My proudest achievements were being awarded Midlands Goalkeeper of the season for my age group and progressing through England FA trials to join a England Youth Goalkeeping scheme where I was coached by Steve Ogrizovic and Martin Thomas.
I went on to play for the youth team at Kidderminster Harriers and spent some time with West Bromwich Albion before making the move into mens football with Stratford Town, Alveston and Kenilworth Town.
I began coaching at Bidford Juniors in 2017 with my eldest Jack's team and now manage my youngest, Dylan's team. I recognise my playing career and love of the game wouldn't have happened without the selfless volunteers in grassroots football and I'm excited and driven to help support the next generation of youngsters at Bidford Juniors.
I have lived in Bidford on Avon from the age of 5, I am married to Debbie and we have three grown-
I played for the School Football team, and joined Bidford Colts under 14’s and 16’s, I was then
selected to play for Warwickshire County team and went on to play for Alcester and Redditch teams
before returning to play for Bidford. The club at that time was known at that time as Bidford Boys,
where I became a Manager, then eventually Secretary and Chairman.
I have also coached Evesham United Juniors and Stratford United Juniors.
I believe that children’s and youth’s football coaching and game time should be fun and encouraging
and we should praise the players, providing constructive feedback from which they can learn.
